<h1 class="subject">Is there any way to get hot water immediately or atleast sooner from the faucets during winter?</h1>

We have to wait for a long time to get hot water from the faucets, during winter, coz of water filled in the pipes getting cold. Is there any way we can maintain the temperature on pipes or any special kind of pipes available in the market? It is irritating me to wait for really...really...long time.

YES there are a few ways

one is a recirculation pump, you press a button in the bathroom when you walk in, and I think a buzzer sounds a few seconds later when the hot water is at the faucet, it takes the water in the pipes and sends it back to the hot water tank and pulls hot water until it is at the shower or the sink..and it does not waste any water at all.....

and second, they have either gas or electric operated units that are less than a few feet from the bathroom and they are called TANKLESS..adn they work very well,

both units work very well, a lot of home owner can do the work if they have the knowledge , but they suggest calling a pro because of water and the electrical part of it..

go to one of the home product stores like Home Depot or Lowes and talk to the guys in the plumbing center, and if they do not know contact a few plumbers, also DIY.com and the channel that shows people how to build homes have it on their web site...

so yes there is, and they save water too

Home Depot and Lowes Home Improvement Centers have pipe insulations, although it will not keep the water hot in the pipes. There are also pipe heaters, but they require a lot of money for insulation. The only thing I can recommend is turning up the thermostat on the water heater, then just running the hot water when trying to get the hot water through the pipes. When you adjust the thermostat, make sure the pilot light doesnt go out, a gas leak is never a good idea.

You can buy the insulator covers for the pipes this also cuts down on the sweating in the summer. However, there is a new system out there that will give you hot water on demand. It is a small unit that is about an 1/8 of the size of a water heater. According to consumer reports it will save you money over the long run in reduced gas usage or electricity.

If you can get to the pipes leading from the hot water heater, wrap them. They sell the stuff at hardare stores--it is gray tube shaped foam. It is slit on one side to install easily. This stuff helps tremendously.

It is fairly inexpensive and lasts for years. You can either buy it by the foot, or in 4 foot sections. I thinks the 4 foot sections are the cheapest route to take. It just slips right on the pipe.

The reason the water is cold, is that the pipes are cold. The water doesn't get warm until the pipe warms up. If the pipe is insulated, it gets warmer quicker.

Set the thermostat temperature higher.

Insulate your hot water pipes in the basement. They sell the material , oneside open & just slips over your pipes. Save energy & water as well.

If you have a water dispenser it has hot or cold water and you just put the 5 gallon container in it plug into the wall let it sit for a while and it will be burning hot water. The company is ice mountain and you have to subscribe.

there is a pipe wrap you can get at hardware stores. it is made from foam, and comes in 3 foot pieces. it will keep your water a little warmer when not in use. hope this helps
